Excuse me, who made Art Spiegelman an expert on the definition of a cartoonist? I have been drawing little minis called Morty Comix and hiding them public places without publishing them. According to Art I am not a cartoonist.
But I am. I know I am. I am a cartoonist.
Art needs to loosen up and drop his role as gatekeeper. I love his work and understand why he has this need to be Mr. Expert. But the rest of the USA is not New York City.
It is sad to see one of the original undergrounders become such a snob.
